Where does your co-ownership stand?

Your co-ownership is evolving: take part in the RGCQ’s new survey and tell us where you stand

News

The management of co-ownership in Québec is currently undergoing a profound transformation. With the gradual coming into force of new obligations arising from Bill No. 16, syndicates of co-ownership must now demonstrate increased rigour, both in financial planning and in transparency toward co-owners.

In this context, the Regroupement des gestionnaires et copropriétaires du Québec (RGCQ) is launching a new and improved questionnaire designed to provide an accurate picture of the realities experienced on the ground. This survey focuses on three key components of the reform: the contingency fund, the maintenance logbook, and the Certificate attesting to the condition of the immovable held in co-ownership.

Why is this questionnaire important?

The obligation to produce a contingency fund study, maintain an up-to-date maintenance logbook, and provide a Certificate attesting to the condition of the immovable held in co-ownership represents a major change for syndicates of co-ownership, both administratively and financially. This questionnaire aims to better understand:

  • the level of awareness of the new obligations;

  • current practices in place;

  • the challenges faced by syndicates of co-ownership;

  • real needs in terms of support and guidance.

The results collected will enable the RGCQ to better guide its actions, particularly with respect to:

  • the development of tailored training programs;

  • the creation or improvement of tools and practical guides;

  • the adjustment of its communications to members and the general public.

Your participation matters

We invite syndicates of co-ownership to take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your participation is essential to support the continuous improvement of practices and a more effective implementation of the reform, for the benefit of the entire co-ownership sector in Québec.
