Conflicts are a common reality in many co-ownership communities.

Disagreements between co-owners, tensions involving the board of directors, disruptive behaviour, harassment or communication breakdowns can quickly affect the quality of life within the building and complicate day-to-day management.

Knowing how to respond appropriately is essential to prevent situations from escalating.

Not every dispute requires legal action.

Understanding the rights and responsibilities of each party, communicating effectively and using appropriate conflict-resolution tools often allows co-ownership corporations to resolve issues while preserving healthy relationships within the community.

During this webinar, our panelists will review the most common sources of co-ownership conflicts, explain the responsibilities of the various stakeholders, present practical prevention and resolution strategies and discuss when legal action may become necessary.

Through real-life examples, participants will learn the right reflexes to adopt and the mistakes to avoid.

A live question period will conclude the session, allowing participants to discuss situations specific to their own co-ownership.

Program:

  • Identify the most common sources of co-ownership conflicts and their consequences.
  • Understand the responsibilities of co-owners, board members and property managers.
  • Discover effective communication, prevention and dispute-resolution strategies.
  • Recognize situations requiring mediation or legal intervention.
  • Review practical case studies based on real co-ownership situations.

Develop the right reflexes to prevent disputes, manage conflicts effectively and foster healthier governance within your co-ownership community.
