The RGCQ at the National Assembly for Bill 16

Quebec, May 8, 2019 - The RGCQ participated in the special consultations on Bill 16 at the National Assembly. Yesterday, our delegation presented its observations and recommendations to the members of the Committee on Regional Planning. The delegation was composed of Laurent Emery, General Manager, Yves Joli-Coeur, Secretary General, Réjean Touchette, Administrator and Adrien Vallat, Research and Analysis Coordinator.

After a speech summarizing our position, the members of the delegation answered questions from the deputies. The main topics that attracted attention in this period of exchanges are the study of the provident fund and the logbook, the management of building managers and the training of directors. Our positions were echoed by the members of Parliament. In addition, the quality and seriousness of the recommendations issued by the RGCQ were welcomed by the members of the commission.

Our recommendations are based on the experiences of our members, the expertise of our partners and our past work. They aim to improve Bill 16, and to offer the most comprehensive reform possible to Quebec co-owners. We will closely follow the progress of this bill to help stakeholders in the condo community to adapt to the new features it introduces.
